The police have received permission to detain Durga Prasai, the coordinator of the Mahaabhiyan for the Protection of Nation, Nationality, Religion and Culture, for at least four days.

The District Administration Office, Kathmandu, has granted permission to detain Prasai for investigation for allegedly spreading rumors during the election and committing an offense against peace and security. 

Kathmandu Police Chief SSP Ramesh Thapa said that permission has been granted to detain him and proceed with further investigation. The police arrested him from Thimi on Monday evening and brought him to the District Police Complex, Kathmandu. 

Earlier, the police had also arrested Prasai for spreading rumors. However, he was later released on bail.
