Police have arrested three people on charges of stealing from the house of former Kathmandu Metropolitan City mayor and senior Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leader Balendra Sah at Chappal Karkhana. The Kathmandu Police Range has said that they were arrested from various locations in Kathmandu.

The arrested are Manish Rajvahak, 42, of Kathmandu Metropolitan City-16, Khim Bahadur Khadka, 46, of Sindhapulchowk Lisankhupakhar-6, Kathmandu-31, and Sanjay Shrestha, 45, of Doti Dipayal Basalgadhi-6, Dhading Dhunibesi Municipality-7, police said.

According to Ramesh Thapa, SSP of the area, Rajvahak is a prisoner who escaped from Nakkhu Prison on 24 Bhadra during the Gen-G movement. He was arrested from Bansbari area on 23 Magh.

Similarly, Khim Bahadur Khadka was arrested from Jadibuti area on Saturday, police said. He is an absconding defendant in a banking crime case. Sanjay Shrestha was arrested from Balaju area. Police said that Shrestha had also been charged with rape earlier.

Police have recovered laptops, gold jewelry, CCTV cameras and other items from their possession.
