A photo exhibition titled 'Konjyosom Bhardeu', with the aim of highlighting the religious, cultural and natural heritage of Bhardeu, Ward No. 5, Konjyosom Rural Municipality, was formally inaugurated on Friday at the Nepal Tourism Board, Bhrikutimandap.
The exhibition was jointly organized by Konjyosom Rural Municipality-5, Bhardeu and Konjyosom Religious Tourism Committee. The exhibition aims to promote the religious, tourist and cultural heritage of the region and enhance cultural and tourism development.
The exhibition features 42 photographs taken by renowned photographer and tourism promotion activist Laxmi Prasad Ngakhushi, out of which 8 life-size photographs are presented as special attractions. The photographs vividly present the spiritual environment, natural beauty and living cultural traditions of the Bhardeu region.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Acting Director of the Nepal Tourism Board, Sunil Sharma, informed that the board has been continuously collaborating with photographers and destinations to promote destinations through photography and visual storytelling. He also informed that the board has recently launched a new digital platform called photonepal.org, which will play an important role in promoting Nepal's destinations to the world through quality photography.
Rajan Ghimire, Vice-Chairman of Konjyosom Rural Municipality, Vijay Singtan, Ward No. 5 Ward Chairman, and Gopilal Singtan, Chairman of Konjyosom Religious Tourism Committee, were present at the inauguration ceremony. They expressed the view that such creative initiatives would be important in promoting religious and rural tourism from the local level.
This exhibition is a key program of the Nepal Tourism Board's long-term strategy to promote new destinations, promote visual content through digital platforms, and strengthen collaboration with the local level to promote tourism.
This photo exhibition will be open to the public from Magh 23 to 25 (February 6-8), from 11 am to 5 pm, at the Nepal Tourism Board, Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu.
