Pulukisi dance, which holds historical and cultural significance, is being performed at Nagdesh in Madhyapur Thimi, Bhaktapur.

This dance is based on the legend of the character Nawaraj, who was crowned king by an elephant and garlanded with flowers, based on the folk tale of Sri Swasthani. This year, local Janish Bade, riding a Pulukisi, has performed this dance as Nawaraj.

Similarly, the dance's naagchah is performed by Shrijal Bade, while the saheli duo is performed by Charbhi Bade and Deepsa Up.

This dance, which is performed to the rhythm of traditional baja, is performed by the Navaraj after bringing Lord Madhav Narayan to the courtyard of the Shri Siddhi Ganesh Temple in Lachhi, Nagdesh and making him sit there. After the worship, the puja is started by the Navaraj. In the evening, after the puja, the Pulukisi dance is performed and the city is circumambulated.
