Newa: The historical Pulukisi dance was performed in Nagdesh on Saturday, organized by the Historical Cultural Bhajan Khal.
This time the main artist of the dance was Janis Bade and he played the role of King Navaraj of Lavanya country riding on Pulukisi. This Pulukisi dance has been performed as a festival in Nagdesh since ancient times.
This dance is based on the story of Shri Swasthani Vrat. The entire method of the dance is done according to Swasthani. In this dance, the role of Nagcha was played by Shrijal Bade, while the two companions were Charbhi Bade and Deepsa Up. Preparations for the dance had started two weeks ago. Similarly, the training of the main instrument of the dance, Nayakhim Baja, had started a month ago.
Like every year, this time too, the Madhav Narayan festival has started. After bringing Bhagbhava Madhav Narayan to the Siddhi Ganesh Temple in Lachhi, Nagdesh, Navaraj had completed it. Then the Pulukisi dance was started and the city was circumambulated.
