Shivapuri Secondary School in Maharajgunj, Kathmandu, has celebrated its 77th foundation day. Known as a leading educational institution among various community schools across the country, Shivapuri celebrated its foundation day on Wednesday.

The school was opened by the then government in 2005 BS during the Rana regime, and has reached its current state after going through various periods. Shivapuri, which was developed as a technical school for computer education in Kathmandu Metropolitan City, offers education up to the bachelor's level.

At the foundation day program, Kathmandu Metropolitan City Acting Mayor Sunita Dangol said that Shivapuri has succeeded in becoming a leading educational institution among community schools. More than 1,500 students are studying in the school, which has 53 teachers and 8 staff members.

In addition to grades 1 to 12, Shivapuri's structure offers education in two bachelor's level faculties: Management and Humanities. Principal Subedi says that Shivpuri is the choice of students from families with average financial status and family backgrounds.

Acting Mayor Dangol said that she is confident that the conduct, discipline and future of the school and students will be even better. She also suggested that learning should be combined with technology to provide higher-level teaching.
