Metro Traffic FM comes into operation after 124 days

Metro Traffic FM 95.5 MHz has resumed operations after 124 days.

The FM broadcast was stopped after it was damaged during the protest on Bhadra 24.

The radio, which was operated by the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, was closed after it was damaged in a fire and theft incident during the protest.

'The radio was brought back into operation after managing the materials burned and lost due to fire and theft with the help of donors,' said SP Naresh Raj Subedi, Information Officer of the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, Baggikhana. 'Due to the damage caused by the protest, the radio, which was previously operating at a capacity of 1,000 watts, has now been reduced to 500 watts and started broadcasting.'

The radio was officially reopened on Saturday as part of the Traffic Week organized by the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office with the aim of reducing road accidents.

Metro Traffic FM, which has been operating since 2069 BS, has been broadcasting road, traffic and safety-related content.
