Three people have been arrested for allegedly defrauding people by promising lucrative salaries for foreign employment. Police have arrested three people on charges of extorting money by promising to send them to the UK.
Those arrested include Indra Bahadur KC, 39, of Pyuthan, Pyuthan Municipality-9, Dang Rapti Rural Municipality-1, Aite Tamang, 40, of Thakre Rural Municipality-5, Dhading, Swayambhu, Kathmandu, and Vijay Gurung, 34, of Kathmandu Metropolitan City-15.
Indra and Aite took 1.3 million rupees from 7 victims, saying they would send them to the UK, and Vijay took 500,000 rupees from 1 victim, saying they would send them to the UK, and then went missing, the victims filed a complaint.
Based on that, the police deployed from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office, Teku, arrested Indra and Aite from Kathmandu Metropolitan City-26, Gongabu on Thursday and Vijay from Kathmandu Metropolitan City-14 on Sunday.
Indra and Aite have been sent to the District Police Range, Kathmandu, and Vijay to the Foreign Employment Department, Tahachal, Kathmandu, for necessary investigation and action.
