The Street Festival has begun at Pottery Square in Bhaktapur from Friday.

The two-day Pottery Square Street Festival, which was started by the Unified Hakujya Prajapati Society from today, was inaugurated by Bhaktapur Municipality Mayor Sunil Prajapati by making clay pots.

Stating that Bhaktapur can only save its identity if it can preserve its language, art and culture, he said that old skills like pottery making should be preserved and handed over to the new generation.

The festival, organized with the aim of preserving original products and skills, will conclude on Saturday night. The festival features food, various local dishes, agriculture, pottery stalls and exhibitions, cultural dances and cultural performances. Cultural programs have also been presented to promote night tourism.
