A person has been arrested on charges of blackmailing and character assassination by communicating with a minor through social media. The arrested person has been identified as Sandeep Chand, 27, of Dhangadhi-12, Kailali, said Cyber Bureau SP Deepak Raj Awasthi.
According to the police, he had asked for nude pictures and videos by putting the minor under various temptations, pressure and influence.
Later, when the minor refused to comply, Chand is accused of sending the pictures and videos to the victim's school friends and relatives. Police said that Chand was arrested on the basis of technical analysis during the investigation.
The court has allowed him to be remanded in custody for 5 days for further investigation.
