A program was organized on Friday to mark the completion of 50 years of technical cooperation between Nepal and Germany.

A ceremony was organized in Lalitpur on Friday to celebrate 50 years of Nepal-Germany technical cooperation with the main slogan ‘Woven Through Time Shaping Tomorrow Together’.

At the program held at GIZ Nepal, the topic was presented on how the German-Nepal cooperation, which began with the conservation of Bhaktapur’s heritage in 1970, has transformed over time into infrastructure and urban development, industrial and entrepreneurship promotion, agriculture and forest management, peacebuilding and conflict transformation, post-earthquake reconstruction, and today into energy, health, and sustainable economic development.

The German-Nepal cooperation has expanded relations between various organizations and although the organizations have different functions, the objective is based on development and common progress, according to GIZ.

Minister of Finance and Minister for Federal Affairs and General Administration Rameshwor Khanal discussed the cooperation between Nepal and GIZ. He said that GIZ is not only a development partner but also a dedicated partner in Nepal's journey towards sustainable development, social inclusion and prosperity of the Nepali people.
