Nepal Police have arrested three people with weapons stolen during the protest on Bhadra 10.

A police team deployed by the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office arrested three people with weapons stolen from various police offices during the protest on Bhadra 10 and made them public on Monday. The arrested are Rasil Joshi, 28, of Kalanki, Kathmandu, Ramchandra Kunwar, 19, of Sundhara, Kathmandu, and Birat Prasad Joshi, 31, of Bafal, Kathmandu.

Office spokesperson Superintendent of Police Kaji Kumar Acharya said that they were arrested based on a special tip-off that they had stolen and hidden police weapons during the protest.

Police have recovered a pistol with Nepal Police marking and two mobile phones of different companies from the arrested people. Spokesperson Acharya said that the investigation revealed that the arrested Rasil Joshi was in custody at the Swayambhu Police Circle on a drug case when he escaped by taking advantage of the Gen-G movement.

The office stated that the three arrested have been sent to the District Police Range, Kathmandu for necessary investigation and action.
