The Bagmati River Corridor is to be illuminated. Lights will be installed on the river banks of the Bagmati Corridor from Gokarna to Balkhu. CCTV will be installed to monitor the area, the Ministry of Urban Development has stated.
The empowered Bagmati Civilization Integrated Development Committee under the Ministry of Urban Development will install a modern CCTV surveillance system and a high-mast smart lighting system to effectively control the growing waste management problem, unauthorized activities and security challenges in the Gokarna-Balkhu area of the Bagmati River Corridor.
The committee has already called for tenders for the selection of construction contractors for the installation of lights and CCTV. If garbage is thrown in the river and riverbanks, it will be monitored through CCTV.
