The Nepal Electricity Authority Nuwakot Distribution Center has lowered a pole for lighting at the Banchare Danda landfill site on Monday. The center has stated that the pole will be buried and a lighting plate will be installed.

Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Physical Infrastructure and Transport and Urban Development Kulman Ghising had expressed his commitment to immediately start installing lights for nighttime waste management during his monitoring of the landfill site and interaction with the locals on Sunday. He immediately directed the NEA's Executive Director Manoj Silwal and the Nuwakot Distribution Center Chief to make necessary arrangements for the installation of lights.

Similarly, a pump has been supplied to the site for the management of leachate from the waste. A committee has been formed under the coordination of the Senior Divisional Engineer of the Ministry of Urban Development to conduct regular monitoring as per the commitment made with the locals, according to Minister Ghising's secretariat.
