Prakash Jabegu, Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Range, Bhaktapur, informed that six people, including four who robbed the house of Krishna Bhakta Kasula of Nikosera Dhungedhara, Madhyapurthimi Municipality-9, were arrested on Friday.
Police have arrested six people involved in theft and robbery in Bhaktapur. On Friday, police took four people into custody for robbing the house of Krishna Bhakta Kasula of Nikosera Dhungedhara, Madhyapurthimi Municipality-9. Two other escaped prisoners have also been arrested.
According to the police, the thieves entered the house through a window and hit 76-year-old Kasula on the head with a piece of wood, injuring him and looting him before fleeing.
According to Prakash Jabegu, Deputy Superintendent of Police of the District Police Range, Bhaktapur, the injured Kasula is undergoing treatment at Kathmandu Medical College, Sinamangal. The police have arrested Bikram Thapa, 27, of Dhulikhel Municipality-3 in Kavrepalanchok and currently residing in Kamalbinayak, Bhaktapur; Ram Bahadur Tamang, 30, of Roshi Rural Municipality-1 and currently residing in the same place; Lokendra Pun, 43, of Parivartan Rural Municipality-4 in Rolpa and currently residing in Kamalbinayak, Rolpa; and Raju Rai, 40, of Beltar, Udayapur and currently residing in Kamalbinayak, Bhaktapur. It has been revealed that the accused Thapa and Tamang have been involved in theft, robbery and drug crimes in the past.
Similarly, a prisoner who escaped from the custody of Thimi Police Circle during the Gen-G movement has also been arrested, according to the police. The police have arrested 30-year-old Nikesh Raut, a resident of Gatthaghar, Madhyapur Thimi Municipality-3. Another prisoner who escaped from the prison during the movement has also been arrested.
