Three Indians arrested at airport with drugs, marijuana

Police have arrested three Indians with what appears to be marijuana. The three were arrested at Tribhuvan International Airport with about seven kilograms (295 grams) of the drug, police said on Saturday.

The arrested persons are Hargobind Singh, 25, Sameer, 19, and Firoz Ahmed Sampad, 27, said Central Police Spokesperson and Deputy Inspector General of Police Binod Ghimire. They were arrested from the airport's customs area on Friday afternoon and made public today, he said.

Hargobind and Sameer, who arrived in Kathmandu from Bangkok by Air Asia flight, were arrested with 3 kg 540 grams of the substance, and Sampad, who arrived in Kathmandu from Mumbai by Indigo Air flight, was arrested with 3 kg 655 grams of the substance, the police said.

The arrested persons have been sent to the Narcotics Control Bureau for investigation and action, Spokesperson Ghimire said.
