Police have said that 10 people have been arrested and released on bail in Bhaktapur so far after the Bhadra 24 protest. Prakash Javegu, Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Range, Bhaktapur, informed that the police arrested the participants in the protest based on their suspicious activities and released them on bail after questioning.
He said that the inquiry commission led by Gauri Bahadur Karki is investigating the incidents that took place during the protests on Bhadra 23 and 24 and has released 10 people who were arrested on bail due to the lack of clear instructions from the Ministry of Home Affairs and the department on what action to take. Deputy Superintendent of Police Jabegu said that the 10 people participated in the protests but were not involved in arson, vandalism and looting of police weapons. He informed that surveillance has been increased on those who committed arson, vandalism and looting of police weapons during the protests based on videos from social media and CCTV cameras.
During the protests on Bhadra 24, arson and vandalism were carried out at Jagati Police Circle in Bhaktapur and weapons were looted.
