Due to continuous rain since Friday, the flow of water around the rivers in Kathmandu is increasing.

With the increased risk of flooding, the city police has deployed emergency teams in four areas of potential flooding areas and places where people may get trapped.

According to Bishnu Prasad Joshi, head of the disaster management department of the Kathmandu Metropolitan City, preparations are being made to transfer the affected people to safe places, mainly schools. Joshi said that the team will be alert throughout the night and if necessary rescue and moving of goods will be done.

He said, 'We are on duty all night . Wherever there is a problem, we are ready if we need to relocate, move goods, or rescue.'

Joshi said that if the team does not arrive in an emergency, the locals can contact the hotline number provided by the metropolis.
