With the start of Dasain festivities, 5.5 lakh people have left the federal capital, Kathmandu. According to the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, 553,261 people have left Kathmandu Valley since Ghatasthapana till this morning.
Head of the office and senior superintendent of police Navraj Adhikari informed that with the increase in the number of passengers leaving Kathmandu, more traffic police have been mobilized at the crossings and parking lots. Help desk, vehicle monitoring team and emergency rescue team are also active for the convenience and safety of passengers. The traffic police are deployed on the road 24 hours a day,' he said.
In addition, 285 thousand 308 people entered Kathmandu Valley from 72 thousand 41 vehicles during Dasain.
