Thirteen people have been arrested in four different operations conducted by the Kathmandu Police with the aim of controlling the increasing criminal activities in the Kathmandu Valley. The police have arrested people involved in activities ranging from motorcycle theft groups to crores of undisclosed cash-jewellery, illegal weapons and insurance fraud.

According to SP Apilraj Bohra, Spokesperson of District Police Complex, Kathmandu, a team deployed from Circle Kalimati arrested 6 people from Dhading house on Tuesday.

3 stolen motorcycles, 6 mobile phones, 5 helmets and a lock breaking device were recovered along with them through CCTV footage. On the same day  Police seized 9.5 kg gold and 3.2 kg silver with 42.25 million rupees from Vinod Kumar Shrestha's house in Gongbu, Kathmandu Metropolitan City-26.

The police also raided the house of Nayabazar rented by his son Rajkumar Shrestha and recovered more cash and jewellery. Kathmandu police have also arrested a group of fake accidents and collecting insurance money. SP Bohra informed that 6 people have been arrested for showing fake injuries and using fake hospital documents. 

The police also arrested 21-year-old Karmasangpo Thakuri from a hotel in Thamel along with a pistol hidden inside a bag. After the information that he published the photo and video of the pistol, the police increased the vigilance and arrested him. 

Kathmandu Police Chief SSP Vishwadhikari says that crime control and investigation have been strengthened by increasing surveillance in narrow streets and suspicious places.

"The success of these police operations seen in one day has made us more responsible," he said, "we are working on various plans for the safety of citizens and the city."
