Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balendra Shah has said that the work of Metropolitan Police is like watching a movie. He said this at a program held in Kathmandu on Saturday on the occasion of the 33rd Metropolitan Police Day. He said that the Kathmandu Metropolitan Police is now doing the same thing as the city police did when he was a child watching Hollywood movies.

He said that it is a pleasure to see the work shown in the film in real life. He also said that many municipalities are trying to learn the way of working from Kathmandu metropolis. He says that the metropolitan police has a big contribution in that.

He said that the City Police has an important role in protecting public property, removing encroachments, good governance, order and monitoring within the Kathmandu Metropolitan City.

Shah said, 'There are many municipalities, there are many places. They want to learn something from Kathmandu Metropolitan City. The places where you try to learn something from Kathmandu Metropolitan City, you have a great contribution in that learning. From protection of public property, removal of encroachment to good governance, order and monitoring in Kathmandu Metropolitan City, you have made a significant contribution. I remember when I was young, we used to watch Hollywood movies, we used to watch the action of the New York City Police when we watched old movies - what the city police should be like in various municipalities of the country, including Kathmandu, could only be seen in the cinema. Watching your work now sometimes feels like watching a movie. That's a pleasure.'
