As the risk of floods, inundation and landslides is increasing with the rain, the Kathmandu Police has identified the danger spots and mobilized rescue resources and manpower. In a press conference on Wednesday, Kathmandu Police Chief SSP Bishwa Adhikari informed that preparations have been made from the identification of danger spots to the arrangement of rescue resources.

According to him, coordination has progressed by identifying 132 risk spots that may be caused by potholes and open culverts on roads and rivers in Kathmandu and reducing the damage.

'171 police personnel who know how to swim have been mobilized in river and riverside police units.  Life jackets, rescue tubes, ropes and other materials have been arranged," said the officer, "For monsoon disaster preparations, the Nepali Army and the Armed Police Force have been working together at different times. According to him, by identifying 76 relief centers in Kathmandu, about 19 thousand 580 people can be provided accommodation and food for a week.

Currently there are 4 thousand 16 police posts in the Kathmandu Police Complex, but the working number is only 3 thousand 233. There are 409 women and 2824 men. According to the police data, 26 people died, 27 people were injured and one person went missing due to floods, inundation and landslides in Kathmandu in the last three years.
