Police have arrested five people from Kathmandu Valley on the charge of cheating by saying that they will send them to different countries under the lure of attractive salary for foreign employment.
Among those arrested are Sajan Gurung of Lamjung Dudhpokhari Rural Municipality-4 residing in Tokha Municipality-9, Deepak Thapa of Rupandehi Tilottama Municipality-1 residing in Lalitpur Mahalakshmi Municipality-8, Tek Bahadur KC of Dang Ghorahi Sub-Metropolitan Municipality-15 residing in Kathmandu Kageshwari Manohara Municipality-5, Bharat Prasad Pandey of Syangja Walling Municipality-7 residing in Lalitpur Metropolitan Municipality-23 and Bhaktapur Madhyapur Thimi Municipality-3. Prem Prasad Bhushal of Parbat Bihadi Rural Municipality-4 lives there.
According to the police, Sajan took 12 lakh 80 thousand rupees from the victim saying he would send it to Germany, Deepak 6 lakh rupees saying he would send it to Georgia, Tek Bahadur 21 lakh rupees saying he would send it to Greece, Bharat 20 lakh rupees saying he would send it to Korea and Prem 33 lakh 50 thousand rupees saying he would send it to Korea and went without contact. Based on the complaint of
victims, the team deployed from Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office Teku made arrests from various places in Kathmandu Valley. Police said that they have been sent to Foreign Employment Department Tahachal Kathmandu for necessary investigation and action.
