The Rotary Natalpole Club has announced that it will collaborate with farmers to encourage commercial coffee farming in rural areas. In the sixth installation ceremony of the club, the newly appointed president Vishnukant Ghimire informed that priority will be given to coffee farming to improve the living standards of farmers in rural areas.
According to him, the club will focus on increasing production, skill enhancement, technical support and marketing of Nepali coffee known as 'Black Diamond'. "With the continuation of the club's social work, now coffee farming will also be supported institutionally," said Ghimire, "this will help increase the income of farmers and make the rural economy viable." Speaking at the
program, the former president of the club, Rakeshram Shrestha, pointed out the need for long-term projects and mentioned that programs like coffee farming are important from the point of view of long-term benefits. The club said that it will cooperate with farmers' groups by identifying suitable areas for coffee cultivation and will also coordinate with potential investors and technical partners.
