A disabled woman died in a fire that broke out in Chemjung Galli, Kathmandu Metropolitan City-6 on Thursday afternoon.

According to District Police Complex Information Officer Police Superintendent Apilraj Bohra, 65-year-old Urmila Tamang, who was living on the ground floor of Hariprasad Gautam's three-and-a-half-storey house, died when a fire broke out in her room around 4 pm. 

Kavre Chaurideurali-3 A fire broke out while Tamang was sleeping in her permanent home. Information Officer Bohra said that he was burnt to death as he could not be rescued in time. Urmila was a woman without a left leg. Tamang and his son were living in that room. The police informed that the fire broke out when his son went to his relatives.

Police Inspector Jaishankar Rimal informed that the fire has been brought under control with the help of locals and police.

In the fire, the windows, doors, rags and other materials inside the room were completely burnt and destroyed. Police are investigating the cause of the fire.
