Two Indians arrested for dealing in cryptocurrency worth over one and a half billion

The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police has arrested two Indian citizens involved in illegal cryptocurrency transactions worth more than one and a half billion rupees. Those arrested are 43-year-old Rupesh Kumar Gupta and 23-year-old Bipin Kumar from the Indian state of Bihar. Both of them were currently living in Lalitpur Metropolitan Municipality-2, Sanepa.

The CIB team arrested them from Sanepa Kalopul on Monday based on a special information. According to the police, 8 lakh 20 thousand Nepali rupees, 10 thousand rupees, 5 mobile phones, a CCTV DVR, a protected wild animal musket were recovered from them.

CIB Spokesperson Superintendent of Police Yuvraj Khadka informed that an investigation is being conducted against them under the Criminal Code, 2074 for the offense of using illegal currency.
