The police have arrested 56-year-old Gopal Prasad Khadanand Gowli, a resident of Maharashtra, India, on the charge of character assassination of a woman on social media. According to the police, Khadananda Gowli and victim Mehina were friends on Facebook and used to communicate on messenger.
It is alleged that Gowli committed character assassination by making a video and airing it on YouTube with the aim of discrediting the pictures taken with the victim during the meeting.
Police deputed from Cyber Bureau arrested Gopal from Kathmandu Metropolitan City-9 Tilganga while investigating the incident.
