An electric pole at Thapathali caught fire on Sunday due to a shorted wire. The fire broke out near the Nepal Food Institute office around 4:30 in the afternoon.
According to the police, the fire started from the internet and phone cables. The fire was extinguished with the help of fire brigade.
Due to the fire, the traffic operation was blocked for some time in the vicinity of Singhdarbar, Maitighar and Thapathali. Due to unorganized wires, such incidents happen from time to time in various areas of Kathmandu Valley.
