On the occasion of the 10th death anniversary of Gnani Deula, known as 'Mother of Dogs', a lamp was lit in the Ganesh temple area of Kamaladi on Saturday evening.
Deula's family and relatives as well as representatives of various organizations active in the social sector were also present at the lamp lighting event. They reverently remembered the wise man by remembering his compassionate life.
In the present situation, although many associations have been opened for the care of community and stray dogs, the family claims that Giani Deula is the first to personally take care of community dogs.
Deula, who lives near Kamaladi Ganeshthan Temple, has been loving, nurturing and protecting the homeless dogs. She loved dogs like her children, sometimes she saved the injured dogs and sometimes they were thrown away. She was arranging their food, shelter, and medicine.
