Engineer Gajendra Prasad Thapalia has been elected as the President of Nepal Intellectuals Council. A new committee of 99 members including him was selected at the session held last night. Similarly, Gobindra Shahi, Secretary Dr. Arjun Kumar Singh have been elected as the Vice President of the Council.
Elections were held only for the posts of president, vice president and secretary. The convention has unanimously elected Radha Adhikari, General Secretary Dipendra Shrestha, Deputy Secretary General Sushil Vick, Foreign Affairs Secretary Dr. Lakpa Sherpa, Publicity Secretary Dr. Tika Dhakal and Financial Secretary Krishna Kumar Lamsal as women vice presidents.
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli inaugurated the council's 11th national session last Saturday.
