Model United Nations exercise completed

The Model United Nations exercise program conducted by the National Youth Council for the purpose of developing youth leadership through the exercise of the United Nations has ended. The program was inaugurated by Deputy Prime Minister and Urban Development Minister Prakashman Singh in Lalitpur on Wednesday.

The youth participating in the four-day Model United Nations exercise were divided into five committees and discussed on various agendas. The executive vice president of the National Youth Council, Surendra Basnet, informed that the agenda of preventing hunger and ensuring access to humanitarian aid in Gaza was discussed under the Model United Nations Security Council.

model Under the United Nations Women's Organization, the issue of strengthening international legal structure and cooperation to deal with human trafficking and sexual exploitation of women and teenagers through technology was discussed by Youth Secretary-General Diwassih Khadka.

Similarly, under the UN High Commissioner for Refugees model, there was a discussion on protecting people who have been displaced for a long time and strengthening access to humanitarian aid. 

model Under the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization, there was a discussion on the agenda of strengthening food security and nutrition through climate-friendly and sustainable agricultural systems in developing countries.

100 young people in the age group (16-24) from 75 districts across the country participated in the practice program that lasted from the 14th to the 17th.
