Bhaktapur Cancer Hospital has started free cancer screening in various districts of the east. Director of Bhaktapur Cancer Hospital, Ujjwal Chalise, said that women were screened for breast and uterine cancer by reaching Ilam, Panchthar, Sankhuwasabha and Dhankuta in the east.

According to him, out of the 400 screened in Ilam, 200 samples will be brought to Bhaktapur Hospital and tested.

Cancer screening started from Ilam on Thursday and will end on June 13th at Pakhribas in Dhankuta. Hospital director Chalise said that those who have problems during the screening will be kept under follow-up. 

The hospital had screened for cancer in Sudurpaschim Province last March and Sindhuli in Baisakh.
