Demanding the implementation of agreements made in the past, the Kathmandu Valley Water Supply Limited (KUKL) affiliated staff organization has announced a protest. The employees of the union protested with demands for water supply, policy reform, general meeting on time, resignation of the chief executive officer.
Five employee trade unions affiliated to KUKL, the Democratic Employees' Union, the Independent Employees' Union, the Employees' Union, and the Employees' Welfare Council have protested. The official trade union put 18 demands before the management on 28th June 2080 .
Trade unions have also raised questions about the performance of Chief Executive Officer Ashok Kumar Poudel. They also submitted a memorandum asking them to resign by Baisakh 31st. Om Dhakal, Vice President of KUKL Employees' Union, said that they were dissatisfied with the irresponsible response to their demands. Said, "In May 2081, there was an agreement between the management side and the representatives of the trade union". But the agreement was not followed .'
The president of the employees' association, Nawal Singh Saud, said that the concerned authorities did not pay attention to them even when they complained repeatedly. He said that the general meeting of the company has not been held since 2078.
