Nepal Police has arrested three people who made forged documents and made them public. Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office held a press conference on Thursday and made them public.
The police raided various government offices, local levels, banks and financial institutions and educational certificates in Tarkeshwar Municipality-7, Futung, after receiving a tip-off about counterfeiting.
Among those arrested are 46-year-old Anjani Byalkoti of Tarkeshwar Municipality-2, Devichok, 28-year-old Nirmal Khadka of Okhaldhunga and Budhanilkanth Municipality-12 of Kathmandu and 23-year-old Anju Khatri of Chandragiri Municipality-1, Dahchok of Makwanpur. According to
investigation, for the past 8 years, Bayalkoti has been using documents from government and non-government offices, local level recommendation letters, certificates of various educational institutions, land owner parts and driver's license, etc. According to the police, he hired two helpers to design fake documents on a monthly salary of 10,000 to 15,000 rupees.
It has been revealed that they are making fake landlord documents for the purpose of taking loans from banks, from dependent visas, marriage certificates. Similarly, it has also been found that for those who want to go to Japan on student visa, fake statements of cooperatives are made and sent to Japan through courier. According to the information officer of the
office, Superintendent of Police Kazi Kumar Acharya, it was revealed from the investigation that they also provide holograms of various educational institutions and government offices, and prepare various levels of educational certificates and experience documents for worker visas in countries including Japan. Also, it has been found that fake medical cards of Manmohan Memorial Hospital, Salyan District Hospital, Veer Hospital etc. are being made for the purpose of PR and green card application for Nepali citizens living abroad.
It has been revealed that they are also involved in making fake statements of all 'A' category banks for visit visas.
42 migration certificates, 60 character certificates, 110 academic transcripts, 5 marriage registration certificates, 50 provisional certificates, 10 land owner registration certificates, letterpads of various cooperative organizations, statement sheets of banks and cooperatives, recommendation letters from local level have been recovered from the arrested persons.
The office said that they have been sent to District Police Complex, Bhadrakali for further investigation and necessary action.
