The National Nature Conservation Fund is going to hold an 'International Snow Leopard Symposium'. The fund has planned to hold a three-day international snow leopard conference in Kathmandu from May 12.
Dr. Chiranjivi Prasad Pokharel, the director of the fund, said that the conference is going to be organized to inform about the work being done by scientists from 12 countries where snow leopards are found.
'What's going on in Hienchituwa ? "We are holding a conference to inform about this," he said, "Also, the purpose of the conference is to bring scientists together and share the research they are doing with each other." Not only that, the conference will provide an opportunity to share knowledge about the challenges of snow leopard conservation and the scientific efforts to solve the challenges.
Only recently, the Government of Nepal published the 'Status of Snow Leopard Population in Nepal 2025' about the snow leopard in Nepal. According to the report, the number of snow leopards in Nepal has reached 397. Pokharel, director of the fund, said that Nepal's research on snow leopards will also be reported at the conference.
