613 women have received services from the free health camp for cervical and breast cancer conducted by Kathmandu Metropolitan City.
846 women registered for cervical and breast cancer screening in the service which was conducted from March 12 to 25. Out of which 613 women have been tested for the disease, the metropolis has informed.
The metropolis informed that 48 people tested positive for HPV DNA. The city conducted a health camp in collaboration with Veer Hospital to conduct free cervical and breast cancer screening.
Similarly, 144 of those tested have been mammogrammed. Mammograms were performed on women with hereditary breast cancer, who were recently exposed after testing positive last year and who needed further screening during early screening this year . 22 of those tested have problems related to women and childbirth.
Initial treatment will be conducted till April 12, 2082 . The camp was conducted for women in the age group of 30 to 60 years who were exempted during the last year's tests, who were positive during the last year's tests and for the target group of early treatment . This camp is the second edition of the metropolitan city. The metropolis informed that the first edition was conducted on 3rd Baisakh of 2081.
