Kathmandu Metropolitan City has approved the expenditure of around 42 million rupees for the salaries of employees and public representatives that have been suspended for three months. Dhruv Kumar Kafle, Assistant Spokesperson of the Metropolis informed that around 14 million rupees were sent to the bank only on Monday (Chait 25), which has been suspended for months.

"About 42 million rupees have been approved for salary up to the month of April," he said. The work that was done only once a month has now been done four times.'

According to him, salaries have already been sent to many employees' accounts on Monday. There are 2,368 employees and 1,800 teachers on permanent, contractual and daily wages in the metropolis. He said that everyone will get their salary by Wednesday as the expenses are also approved. "Our system has worked," he said, "until Wednesday, all the employees and public representatives will get their suspended allowances." The chief administrative officer of the metropolis, Saroj Guragai, was on leave and the salary and financial transactions of the employees were stopped.

Guragai appeared in the metropolis on 21st Chait and decided to pay the salary of the employees first. Guragai was accused of approving the map of Kathmandu Tower without completing the process. He was on leave after the allegations.
