Chief Commissioner of National Information Commission Dr. Suresh Acharya said that there is a need for amendment in the guidelines and procedures related to Right to Information. He said that the Commission will form a committee for that and do the homework of the amendment.
'Right to Information Regulations 2065, Monitoring Guidelines 2076 and other guidelines and procedures issued by the Commission have seen the need for revisions and contemporary improvements. We have prepared to form a committee to make recommendations for that,' he said.
In a press conference held on Monday, Chief Commissioner Acharya informed that the Commission has decided to form a committee to submit a report including revisions and contemporary improvements in the guidelines and procedures.
The commission has decided to proceed with the principled consent for the organization and management survey in the context that the Right to Information Act, 2064 provides legal arrangements for the commission to open offices as needed. As part of the regular work of the
commission, it has been working to take appeals of information activists and make orders accordingly. Chief Commissioner Acharya said that 14 appeals regarding the right to information have been received during the last one month.
According to him, 56 appeals in the process have been ordered. According to him, the Commission has decided to celebrate the 17th Foundation Day 2082 on the 22nd of Baisakh with grandeur.
