Kathmandu Metropolitan City Deputy Chief Sunita Dangol has monitored the reconstruction of Kamalpokhri. During the monitoring, Deputy Chief Sunitha instructed to make the Kamalpokhari bright at night, to develop a system to maintain the water level by refilling the rain water and to make it beautiful.
While monitoring the work being done in the second phase under the Kamal Pokhari Reconstruction Master Plan, he gave the instructions to the Public Works Department and the officials of the Parks and Greenery Promotion Project. During the
monitoring, Deputy Chief Dangol said that the visitors damaged the idols placed around the pond and idols at different places and said that unauthorized activities should be monitored through CCTV cameras.
Kamalpokhari is spread over an area of about 23 ropani . According to the master plan of developing it as a traditional, cultural and tourist pond, Kamalpokhri is being reconstructed by the metropolis. In the first phase of the
master plan, the pool and its related structures have been constructed at a cost of 63.6 million rupees. In the second phase, the solarization and maintenance of the pond is being done, the metropolis has informed.
The work is progressing with an agreement with the contract company for Rs 3 crore 6 lakh 8 thousand 11 . The plan, which was mandated on August 19, 2081, should be completed by July 15, 2082.
