The family of Ghanshyam Thapa, a resident of Ward No. 4 of Kalimati Rural Municipality of Salyan, came to Kathmandu only eight months ago.

Ghanshyam Thapa, a labourer, returned home at 6 pm after working as usual on Saturday, but his five-year-old daughter Poornima Thapa was not at home. She went to play in a public park about 200 meters away from the

room and did not come back on Saturday. She sometimes went to play in the park with her friends.

Based on the CCTV footage, it was discovered that he went to play with his friends on Saturday as well. Later, when the family searched, they found his slippers floating in the pond inside the park.

After a slipper was found in the pool around 6 o'clock in the evening, she was found in the pool while searching. He was taken out of the pool and brought to APF Hospital, Balambu, Kathmandu. According to the police, the hospital declared him dead at 9:13.

Father Ghanshyam Thapa says, "We had just admitted Nani to school. If it wasn't for Saturday, this accident probably wouldn't have happened. Even if I could spend time with my daughter on Saturday, I would not have to lose her.'
