Police have arrested a 19-year-old youth involved in illegal international call and SMS bypass. Dhiraj Patel of Parsa Birgaj was arrested by the Central Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police on Monday with various tools.
Birgunj Metropolitan Municipality Ward No. 16 with the device to bypass the call was arrested by the police. Under the Telecommunications Act 2053, further investigation work is being done on him by taking permission from Parsa District Court. According to information officer of the
bureau, Superintendent of Police Sudhir Raj Shahi, with him Two VoIP gateways with 32 ports, one VoIP gateway with 18 ports, 14 Ncell SIM cards, different types of routers, batteries, inverters, connecting wires, mobile sets and pen drives have also been seized by the police.
In coordination with Nepal Telecommunication Authority and other agencies, Nepal Police is actively investigating and taking action to stop international illegal call bypass.
