Kathmandu Metropolitan City is going to operate material recovery facilities to manage dry waste in seven different areas.

The metropolis has issued a notification on Wednesday and has also requested not to pick up the waste without permission as it is preparing to carry out the recovery operation to manage the dry waste .

'As the material recovery facility for inorganic (dry) waste management is going to be operated under municipal waste within the metropolitan area', it is said in the notice, 'It is requested not to pick up/separate waste from commercial establishments, squares, roads commercially without the permission of the metropolis.'

According to Sections 51 and 52 of the Environment and Natural Resources Protection Act 2077 and the Financial Act of the current financial year of the metropolis, action will be taken.
