The Lalitpur Metropolitan Corporation is going to demolish the unauthorized structures and build a green park. Mayor Chiri Babu Maharjan of Lalitpur Metropolitan Municipality said this on Monday after starting the demolition of unauthorized structures built in Nhun Pokhari area.
He said that the physical structures built in the pond area will be demolished and a green park will be built. He said that the Metropolitan Corporation is embarking on a campaign to beautify the Nukhu Pukhu area.
He said, 'We will beautify this Nukhkhu Pukhu, and enhance the greenery. It is a fusion project of Green and Blue. Green means greenery and blue means water. This is not a state of art park, mixing water with greenery.
City Police Chief of Lalitpur Metropolitan City, Sitaram Hachethu, said that the pond area will be returned to its original state. He said that the construction will be completed by the next June and a resting place will be arranged for the elderly.
He said, 'This can be done in June 2082. In this place There will be a garden, a smart toilet and people will return to the old way of walking. Before there was nothing, later the physical structures that were built have started to be demolished according to the instructions of the Metropolitan Corporation.
Lalitpur Metropolitan City Ward No. 5 Ward President Bikasman Shrestha said that the campaign is underway to move the ward building in the pond area to another place and rebuild the pond in its original condition.
He said, 'This is our historical New Pond which is now closed. After protecting that pond, they started making this pond by putting a French fence. According to the decision of the municipal council of the metropolitan city, there was also a ward building here, the ward is moving behind the Malshree building and the campaign is underway to build this pond.
After the completion of the construction of the pond, there will be a resting place for the elderly and young people, the metropolitan corporation has informed. According to the Metropolitan Corporation, the big plan including fish farming in the pond has been moved forward.
