Cyber ​​Bureau of Nepal Police has arrested two people for being involved in character assassination of women using social media and messenger app.

 Shrishna Karki, 19, who lives in Khadadevi Rural Municipality of Ramechhap and currently lives in Kathmandu, and Saroj Katuwal, 31, who lives in Kathmandu, Budhpur and lives in Shadanand Municipality of Bhojpur, have been arrested, police said.

According to the press release of the Cyber ​​Bureau, they were arrested on 28th and 29th of January for offenses under the Electronic Transactions Act 2063. Among the accused, Karki used to send the pictures taken while he was having a love affair with the victim's relatives and friends after the relationship broke down. According to the police, after arresting him, the Kathmandu District Court extended the investigation by four days.

Similarly, Katuwal is also accused of sending obscene pictures to the victim's sister without informing the girl he was having a relationship with and without her consent.

It is mentioned in the petition filed by the victim that Katuwal published objectionable pictures on social media without her knowledge with the intention of assassinating the character of the victim. He was also arrested by the police and the Kathmandu District Court extended the investigation by five days.
