The Nepal Police Cyber Bureau has arrested two young men for character assassination of girls and women on social media.
19-year-old Mr. Krishna Karki, who lives in Kathmandu at the residence of Ramechhap Khadadevi Rural Municipality-8 Dhulebensi, was accused of sending the photos and videos taken during the relationship to his relatives and friends on Facebook messenger after the relationship broke down, and character assassination by sending the obscene videos and photos taken without the knowledge and consent of his sister on Facebook messenger. 31-year-old Saroj living in Bhojpur Shadanand Municipality-5 and living in Kathmandu Katuwal was arrested by the police.
Karki, who was arrested on 28th of January and Katuwal, who was arrested on 29th, were being investigated for offenses under the Electronic Transactions Act, Cyber Bureau Pravat and Information Officer Superintendent of Police Dipakraj Awasthi informed. They were arrested by the Bureau based on the complaints of the victim girls and women.
