Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST) has organized an 'Earthquake Learning Exhibition' to impart knowledge about earthquakes. NAST has organized this exhibition on the occasion of 'National Earthquake Safety Day' being celebrated on January 2 every year. The exhibition is being held at NAST's office in Lalitpur.
This day has been celebrated since 2055 in memory of the great earthquake of January 2, 1990. The
exhibition has 8 models to educate about earthquakes. The first model includes earthquakes, causes of earthquakes, plate tectonics, Gorkha earthquakes and the science of earthquakes. Similarly, in model two, the magnitude and intensity of the earthquake and in model three, why can't the earthquake be predicted? The subject is in the exhibition.
Similarly, model four of the exhibition will tell about what to do before, during and after an earthquake and the steps to prepare for an earthquake.
The effect of earthquakes on buildings of different heights in model five, liquefaction and earthquakes in model 6, seismic 'P' and 'S' waves in model seven, types of waves and seismometers in model eight, how scientists measure earthquakes are on display.
