On English New Year's Day, a young woman was found dead in the Bagmati Hotel in ward number 9 of Kathmandu Metropolitan City. The young man who came with him is missing.

The hotel management informed the police after the door of room number 308 did not open at around 2:15 pm on English New Year's Day (November 17). When the door was opened in the presence of police officers and local people's representatives, 21-year-old Sushmita Khadka was found dead, the police said.

Police have pointed out that the incident may have been a murder in the preliminary investigation. As the young man who came with the deceased disappeared, it is suspected that he was involved in the incident.

Teams from District Police Complex Kathmandu, Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office and Police Circle Gaushala have been mobilized to investigate the incident.

District Police Complex Information Officer Superintendent of Police Navraj Adhikari informed that further investigation of the incident has been carried out in coordination with the relatives of the deceased.
