Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balendra Shah has requested the government to distribute the compensation for the three-cornered land. While inaugurating the Koteshwar Festival in Kathmandu on Friday, he said that it is sad that the compensation for the land of Three Corners has not been distributed for more than his age.
Mayor Shah also claimed that there will be no problem in the distribution of compensation if the present government wants to and said that there is a government of two-thirds.
'Special thanks to the landowner for providing the land for this event . For fifty years, the problem has not been solved, they have not received compensation. Sometimes when there was a government, the opposition agreed or not, it was said to give compensation, sometimes when there was another government, it was said whether the majority would agree or not . This year the majority is two-thirds of the government . But nothing has been done. Has any leader come to the house to give assurance? Mayor Shah said.
Mayor Shah also asked not to believe if any leader said that the land had been looted by the government and that the process was going on. Don't believe if you say that it is in process, your work is being done. Nothing has been processed . Nothing happened . Until now, the government has robbed people of their land in a way,' he said.
Now two-thirds of the government can do anything if it wants, said Mayor Shah . He also said that Koteshwar Mela needs to give the local characteristics of Koteshwar.
