Two arrested for swindling 1 million by claiming to send Croatia and Cyprus

The police have arrested two people who defrauded people of 1 million 35 thousand rupees by saying that they would send them to Croatia and Cyprus. Those arrested are Yad Bahadur Burjamagar, a resident of Udaipur Rautamai Rural Municipality-3 and Kathmandu Gokarneshwar Municipality-8, and Sanjay Shah Baniyan, a resident of Bhimsengola and Bara Pachrauta Municipality-8.

According to the police, among those arrested, Burjamagar took 575,000 rupees from 2 victims saying he would send them to Croatia and Banian took 460,000 rupees from 1 victim saying he would send them to Cyprus.

He was arrested by the police assigned to Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office Teku based on the complaint of the victims. They have been sent to Foreign Employment Department Tahachal Kathmandu for necessary investigation and action, police said.
