A father and son were found dead in a house in Bhaktapur's Balkot. According to the police, the elder son who lived with them is missing. Police said that the bodies of 56-year-old Kul Prasad Acharya and his 22-year-old younger son Praveen Acharya were found in the room of their house located in Suryavinayak Municipality-2, Balkot Fikadhartol.
Acharya's two sons had been camping in the ground floor room of the three-story house for 3 years. Out of the four rooms on the ground floor, the other two rooms were occupied by others. DSP Dhundiraj Neupane, spokesperson of District Police Complex Bhaktapur, said that father and son had dinner together on Friday evening.
'The room was closed on Saturday morning. Acharya's family has also been calling from the village. But after there was no contact, the news came to us on Monday morning," he said. "On Monday morning, when we broke the door, the father and the younger son were dead. Their dead bodies were in two separate rooms. The younger son's body was on the bed in the kitchen, while the father's body was in another room. Both father and son have injuries in the lower part of their ears. There are hairs and blood on the dumbbells and dumbbells found in the room,'' said Neupane, 'looking at the nature of the incident, it appears to be a murder.' DSP Neupane said that the search for the eldest son Milan Acharya, who is out of contact, is underway. He said that a trained dog was also used to investigate the incident.
The Acharya family is a permanent resident of Khotang's Diktel Rupakot Majhuwagadhi Municipality. The deceased Kul Prasad Acharya was the Acting Head (Nasu) of District Post Office Khotang. His elder son Milan was preparing for public service while his younger son Praveen was studying B.Sc. The bodies of the deceased have been taken to the University Teaching Hospital for post-mortem.
